Research into Patients Diagnosed with Diabetes in India

We conducted Research into Patients who are Diagnosed with Diabetes in India..

Introduction & Coverage:

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that arises when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin produced. This causes an abnormally high concentration of glucose in the blood, which seriously damages many of the body’s systems, especially the blood vessels and nerves.

Screening:

The purpose of the screening stage is to locate diagnosed diabetes patients by random screening. Random screening of households will allow us to calculate prevalence of diabetes among the population. All members of the household are included in the screening (via a spokesperson). There is no lower or upper age restrictions in the random screening, it is particularly important that people over 70 years old are included.
